I am a lecturer at California State University, Northridge in the Department of Philosophy and the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and Liberal Studies.
I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy & Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego.
My main research interests lie in the philosophy of mind and the philosophy of science, particularly cognitive science, psychology, and neuroscience. Much of my work thus far has focused on the nature of human social cognition. From a philosophy of science perspective, I am interested in the nature of explanation in the cognitive sciences, particularly the mechanistic approach and its relation to other more radical alternatives emphasizing the embodied, embedded, enactive, and/or extended nature of cognition.
I have over a decade of experience teaching courses across many different areas of philosophy, including philosophy of mind, philosophy of science (inc. the cognitive sciences and biology), logic and critical thinking, socio-political philosophy, and ethics (inc. business ethics).
