I am a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the California State University, Northridge.

I am also an Editor of Philosophical Psychology, an interdisciplinary journal focusing on foundational issues in the psychological sciences.

I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy & Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego.

My main research interests lie in the philosophy of mind and the philosophy of science, particularly cognitive science, psychology, and neuroscience. Much of my work thus far has focused on the nature of human social cognition. From a philosophy of science perspective, I am interested in the nature of explanation in the cognitive sciences, particularly the mechanistic approach and its relation to other more radical alternatives emphasizing the embodied, embedded, enactive, and/or extended nature of cognition.
